Microsoft’s open-source SkillOpt automatically upgrades AI agent skills without touching model weights

Microsoft released SkillOpt, an open-source framework that optimizes agent skill markdown files using deep-learning-style propose-and-test edits guided by validation and negative feedback, without changing model weights. It outperformed multiple baselines on industry benchmarks and produced compact, transferable skills that improve reliability across models and execution harnesses.
